Resource Consultants offer support to children 0-12 years of age who have a developmental delay or a suspected developmental delay. Children are required to be attending a licensed childcare centre or licensed before or after school program in the District of Nipissing.
Resource Consultants are a team of professionals dedicated to promoting inclusion as well as acting as mediators for specialized services involved with the family.
Resource Consultants focus on the overall growth and development of the child with respect to his/her physical, social, emotional, communication and cognitive needs. When the children reach the age of school entry, the Resource Consultants provide support to parents or guardians to ensure a smooth transition from pre-school to junior/senior kindergarten.
Community Living Month
May is the month that we celebrate Community Living North Bay. This year the Inclusion Support Program wanted to celebrate by having a poster contest on “Inclusion, What does it mean to you”. We wanted to target a younger audience and asked the children attending licensed Early Learning & Child Cares, school age programs to get their perspective of what inclusion is to them. The participation was excellent and the posters were fantastic. The pictures were great with children helping other children and we read words like “sharing, come and play with us, do you want to play with us, and everybody belongs”. Inclusion is about a sense of belonging, about feeling respected and valued for who you are and this proves that the children are working on understanding what the meaning of Inclusion is.
Our Winners are:
1st category – ages 3-6
2nd category – ages 7-9
3rd category – ages 10-12
All the winners received a $30.00 gift card to Creative Learning.
