Carleton University Study

We’ve partnered with Anna Przednowek a PhD Candidate at Carleton University in the School of Social Work. Anna is conducting a study titled “Caring to include: everyday life and care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ontario”. The goal of this study is to find out how current policies and practices are impacting the conditions of everyday life, care and support of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. As well as to better understand how the care and supports that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive contribute toward their well-being and greater social inclusion, and how individuals with intellectual disabilities contribute within their families and communities. Here is the criteria:

Live in Ontario
Are 25+ years old
Are on a waiting list for Passports funding or are currently receiving Passports funding
Receive family support and/or paid support
In the case where persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive family or paid support, I also want to interview their family members or supports workers. Family is broadly understood to be parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins and other kin.

If you have any questions about the study or would like to participate contact Anna Przednowek at (519) 504-3150 or email at [email protected]
