WE HAVE NOW OPENED A CLINIC TO PROVIDE SUPPORTS TO PEOPLE WAITING ON CLINICAL SERVICES
Brief Counselling & Consultation Clinic
On behalf of Clinical Services of Community Living North Bay we would like to invite you to attend our Brief Counselling & Consultation Clinic while you wait for clinical services.
The Brief Counselling & Consultation Clinic provides timely, single-session counselling and consultation. Sessions are approximately one hour in length. The focus of the session is determined by each person’s unique needs. The clinician will assist the person to identify and work towards a session goal. The clinicians will help the person identify issues, provide understanding and empathy, recognize and build on the person’s strengths and help the person develop strategies to address concerns. Please note this is not a crisis service. Individuals in crisis should call 911 or go to the emergency room at the hospital.
Hours of operation
The Brief Counselling & Consultation Clinic is open every Wednesday from 9am to 4pm, with first appointments scheduled on April 18th, 2018.
You may schedule an appointment by contacting Community Living’s main reception line at 705-476-3288 and then dial 0. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. A limited number of appointments are available each Wednesday. If you wish to attend the clinic, and no appointments are available that week, you may schedule an appointment for a subsequent Wednesday.
You may attend the appointment individually, with a family member or with a support person. If you are a parent, support staff or caretaker, and you are seeking behaviour consultation services for someone in your care, the person in your care may not need to attend the appointment. If the person has a legal substitute decision maker, we ask that substitute decision maker complete the attached consent form. Please bring this signed consent form with you to the appointment.
Can people attend the clinic more than once?
You may attend the Brief Counselling & Consultation Clinic more than once; however, a limited number of appointments may be available to each person in a calendar year. This helps make the service available to everyone. If you attend the clinic and then wish to make another appointment, we ask that you wait two weeks from your last session before calling to schedule another appointment.
We look forward to hearing from you.
